    US State Department Proposes Sending 3,000 More Troops To Afghanistan

    WASHINGTON : According to media reports, the US state department and military high ups has proposed sending 3,000 more US troops to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban.
    According to BBC report, US officials said that President Donald Trump has not approved the plan as yet. The report further said that US may include a request that other Nato countries should also send 3,000-5,000 more soldiers to Afghanistan.
    The US warfare mission against the Taliban militants officially ended in 2014, but to provide support to Afghan troops, currently there are about 8,500 US troops and 13,000 Nato troops in the country.
    It is pertinent to be mentioned here that the proposal to send more troops to Afghanistan came at a time when Afghan Taliban have intensified their attacks in Afghanistan.
